I CUT THE CRAP OUT OF CONTENT FOR CRUELTY-FREE BUSINESSES.
Wish you could produce content in fewer words and in less time?
I work with cruelty-free business owners and marketers who:
- Know exactly the story they need to tell (or need help finding it)
- Want to be effective with their messages.
The key to company growth is sales. Sales depend on good marketing. There’s WAY too much crap out there: social posts as long as PhD theses, unannounced one-hour live videos, and endless contest loops.
It’s a lot of BS to scroll through, and it’s mostly unnecessary.
When cruelty-free businesses hone in on their superpowers, they get their messages out more effectively, grow their companies, and prevent and solve our world’s most pressing challenges. That’s what we’re all doing this for, isn’t it?

All it took with Sandra was a quick Zoom call, and she pulled all of the information she needed out of me to create a wonderful piece that couldn’t have been more perfect. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHY YOU?
I’ve been reading and writing since the age of three (which is close to four decades). I’ve published poetry in literary journals and have been writing and publishing blogs since 2006, many of which are on this website.
After graduating with a degree in English Literature and Film Studies in 2005, I started my career in public relations (PR). From 2008 to 2018, I ran an award-winning virtual public relations agency, Conscious PR, in Vancouver. In 2012, I committed to working only with businesses that had a positive social or environmental impact. I certified my company twice as a B Corp, and was a member of 1% For the Planet, so I’m all about Corporate Responsibility & purpose-driven work.
Since 2019, I’ve self-published two books, one of which was the first vegan marketing book in the world.
If you want to hire diverse suppliers, I’m a millennial and one of the few vegan women of colour in the world who write content and help authors publish books.
My personal journey to eliminating animal products from my lifestyle and living more sustainably began in 2008. Now that I’m vegan, I’m always looking for ways to live even more cruelty-free and zero waste.
If you’re looking to network with or get in front of more vegans, I’ll also use my vegan network connections to help you.
My content strategy:
Learning how content marketing works is never-ending and requires constant pivoting. I don’t believe in copying and pasting from templates (although ChatGPT or VEG3 are great tools to start with), or learning 1001 new copywriting tricks. The key to good marketing is knowing who you are and what you do that no one else does, and zagging when everyone else is zigging.
I help my clients maximize the great things they’re already doing. Maybe it’s increasing your content frequency for more touchpoints with your audience. For others, it could be posting the same amount, but changing what you say in descriptions or how you say it so it resonates more.
No matter what, I believe you don’t need to say any more than a few words to create impact with your message. Longer isn’t always better.
I can’t wait to find out what your superpowers are and help you share that with the world, easily and effortlessly.
WHAT'S YOUR PROCESS LIKE?
Here is a link to my evolving portfolio, so you can see the projects I’ve worked on and what my writing/editing style is like before you choose to hire me.
Depending on the services you’re hiring me for, I’ll put an agreement together before the work starts. Our first meeting will be the most important, so come with ALL of your ideas and your backstory for this. If you’re starting a new company and haven’t yet created a brand guide, I’ll help you create one.
For one-time projects:
- I’ll give you an estimate for the work; it’s good to tell me if you’ve got a budget to ensure I can work within that.
- A project brief is much appreciated. It’s not impossible to start the work without one, but if my first draft is way off than what you wanted, there may be more revision rounds, and that will add time and cost.
- Once you’re happy with the final product, I’ll send my invoice over, and I expect payment within the week.
If you’re known to pay late, please find someone else to work with.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "CRUELTY-FREE"?
If your business causes harm to people, animals, or the environment, please find someone else to work with. I will not work with companies involved in unfair labour practices related to wages, work hours, or working conditions, are discriminatory toward people of a certain race, gender, religious belief or other facet, or whose products have been tested on animals or contain ingredients known to be harmful to the health of living beings or the environment.
As of 2022, I’ve committed to only working with vegan business clients. Staff of these companies do not need to be living vegan themselves. If you need help transitioning your business into one that is cruelty-free, please contact me and I will send you a list of service providers.
DO WE NEED TO MEET?
No. Meetings aren’t necessary unless you hire me for ongoing treatments. In those cases, we’ll meet virtually on Zoom. I’ll send all written drafts to you to review online.
If you live in the Vancouver, BC area, we can meet in person if it’s necessary for the work.
I live and work on the traditional unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlil̓wətaʔɬ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations.
WILL WE GET ALONG?
Here’s the lens through which I see the world: Cis-gender woman of colour; child of immigrant Filipino parents with Spanish (colonizer) blood; middle child; second generation Canadian settler; aunt; wife; vegan; eco-socially-minded solopreneur; aspiring world traveller and spiritual cosmonaut; lover of good food, film, public art and nonfiction over fiction; writer to the core.
My personality is more cool than warm. I’m an introvert. I like clear communication, and I dislike men who talk too much. Small talk is great for the first few minutes of our meetings, but after that, I like to get to the point. I stay quiet so I can listen. A lot. I have an unintentional resting bitch face (RBF), which means I’m listening very intently to what you’re saying. This is especially important if I’m writing in your voice—it translates into well-written copy.
I’ve been called “mysterious” and “really quiet” for someone who is in communications, but my words—and editing skills—are my weapons. If you run a vegan business in the Lower Mainland of BC, I’m probably already familiar with it. People tend to forget me, but I don’t forget anyone. I’m the small Asian woman who might stay quiet in a boardroom, but I listen to everything and respond when I need to. In the past, I’ve run a film festival with a team of a dozen people, so I’ve led groups when needed.
I’m down to earth and realistic, but I also believe in aliens and that the Divine is everything and everywhere. Everything I do in my life, including my business, is for the greater good of all living beings. I wouldn’t call myself an Intuitive, but when I write or edit for clients, I do feel like I get “intuitive downloads” so if you’re into the woo, we’ll get along just fine!
Check out my YouTube channel for videos of me speaking.
Lack of emotional intelligence is a deal breaker and may result in contract termination.
CAN YOU GIVE ME A DISCOUNT?
No. We have to lift people of colour and work towards racial equity, and that includes paying me what I’m worth.
Non-profit organizations may qualify for discounts; please mention that when you contact me.
CAN YOU POST ON MY SOCIAL NETWORKS?
If you hire me for the COMPLETE CONTENT or SOCIAL CONTENT monthly regimen programs above, I can write and publish your posts, but images and videos will need to be supplied.
The best thing about my work is that YOU get the credit for the work. People never need to know that I’m your secret weapon, unless you tell them.
CAN YOU DO MEDIA OUTREACH FOR MY BUSINESS?
I won’t pitch to media, podcasts, or content creators on your behalf, but you can learn all about that process in my book, The Only Public Relations Guide You’ll Ever Need, or take my PR course.
Please have a look at related services under PUBLICITY PRODUCTS above.
I’m also a freelance writer, so you can contact me to pitch me a story related to your cruelty-free business. If it gets published by a media outlet, it’s a win win for both of us!

If you have a cruelty-free product or service you’d like me to test and review on my blog and/or post on my social media networks (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn), please contact me. Rates vary between blog vs. social only posts.
