Weaving magic into vegan brands
I saw Kat Walter post in the Vegan Business Networking (VBN) Facebook group two months ago and immediately connected with her on LinkedIn. Launched in 2024, Moogli Creative brings her passion for crafting magical brand identities to help weave stories into visually stunning and impactful identities that resonates with audiences. Let’s learn all about Kat!
When and how did you go vegan?
I went vegetarian when I was 9 years old after seeing some pictures of animal slaughter in the street. I then went vegan with my husband in 2017 after watching Gary Yourofsky’s “The Most Important Speech You Will Ever Hear.” (Sooo recommend!)
How did you get into marketing, and what kind of marketing you do now?
I joined a management consultancy when I was in my early 20s and saw all of the incredible marketing and graphic design work that was being produced. I thought “that’s what I want to do!!” and I was fortunate enough to move into that line of work.
My passion now lies particularly in graphic design and brand visual identity design and if I can help a vegan or animal rights organization, then even better!
What kind of work fires you up right now?
Everything brand related. I get such a kick out of taking a tired, out-of-date brand that’s not landing the way it should and transforming it into something people can be proud of that truly resonates with the target market and that draws in revenue.
Share your best marketing win, and one marketing horror story.
Best marketing win: Winning “Best new casino 2021.” This was the first project I had been creative lead on, so it was a massive validation for me to know that actually, I can do this!
Marketing horror story: A long time ago when I was just starting out, I put the wrong rate card in a proposal to a client. My boss was so angry, she almost fired me on the spot.
Who or what vegan company do you think is crushing in marketing right now?
VFC (@vfc.food on Instagram). I absolutely love their personality on social media. They take rude comments by vegan haters, embrace them and actually use them in their advertising. You wouldn’t think that would work, but it does, and I think they are a genius!
