A vegan marketer dedicated to a different world
I connected with Los Angeles-based Brennan Gerald in 2023 online; we’re both in the Vegan Professionals LinkedIn group. He had shared with me about working with artist Malcolm-Emilio, who had collaborated with NBA athletes who are vegan, and Canada Goose.
Let’s learn all about Brennan!
When and how did you go vegan?
In 2009, due to researching optimal living modalities in ancient cultures. I came across the Zen Buddhist and Rastafarian ital living modality and have adhered to it ever since.
How did you get into marketing, and what kind of marketing you do now?
I help plant-based, ethical, eco friendly brands increase awareness, efficiency, and revenue. I got into this field after a dedicated attempt to end food droughts in Washington, DC, via a vegan catering company I started that serves compromised communities. I realized that this way of life was not easily adopted in marginalized communities because it was not advertised to such regions. As such, there was very little awareness about vegan living. Seeing this gap in the marketplace, I dedicated myself to helping vegan brands increase awareness, efficiency, and revenue.
What kind of work fires you up right now?
When I see a really great vegan brand that communicates their value in a method that’s a low barrier to entry.
Share your best marketing win.
I created an experiential marketing activation for the Anwar Carrots brand and exclusive clothing drop in Los Angeles. Curated performing talent, vegan food/beverage tasting experience, and artist lounge, which all culminated into a sold out collection in just 24 hours.
Who or what vegan company do you think is crushing in marketing right now?
@ZuzuSilk (Paulina Singer), vegan social media influencer and actress. Her messages are going viral nearly every other week and she’s amassed a small cult following of people who are open to giving veganism a chance because she makes it cool.
What do you do in your spare time?
I love to surf, skate, hike, and design eco-friendly apparel.
