A recap of everything Gary V says in his content
I’ve been consuming Gary Vaynerchuk‘s content for a solid two years on an almost daily basis now, and if you’ve been keeping up like I have, you’ll know that he says the same things over and over in his keynotes and social content because he gets asked the same questions. Without further ado, here is a recap – a checklist, if you will – of these gems collected over the past two years. Supporting posts and videos follow; and what’s cool is some of these vids are from YEARS ago and still ring true today.
Figure out who you are.
Don’t do anyone else. Be you.
Don’t try to fix what you suck at. Know what you’re good at, then set tunnel vision on what puts you on fire.
Create a situation in which you are not at the mercy of others (jobs, parents, etc.). Create short term pain.
Passive income doesn’t exist without working.
Outwork everybody.
Bring value.
There’s nothing wrong with a one-woman (or man) business.
The quicker you learn you are a media company first – not an advertiser first – the quicker you will be successful.
Learn Facebook and Instagram because this is where the attention is.
Don’t get fancy. Document, don’t create.
Your mentor is the market. It is better to look up to the 31 people that leave comments than to watch me.
Ask nothing of nobody. Expect zero.
Test everything.
The market’s changing. Focus on that, not your bonus.
Eat shit in your 20’s & 30’s.
Be patient.
Be grateful.
Have a positive mindset.
Balance your ego with humility.
When you have success, leverage it by building something else under the assumption the first thing may not be there at all someday.
When you are fully accountable and responsible for everything (your and everybody else’s happiness around you), and when you need nothing of anybody else, and nobody owes you anything, then you can get really quiet. And you win.
Love winning and love losing.
Die on your own sword.
Don’t die with regret.
My personal fav is this one:
