This is an archived blog from when I ran Conscious Public Relations Inc. from 2008-2018. Excuse the potential outdated-ness!

A tribute to the people and organizations who allowed us to speak and share our knowledge this year.

As I look back on the flurry that was 2016, I’m deeply honoured by the people and organizations who allowed our team to speak either at their events or to their students. It’s important to give back and share your knowledge, but without those who say “yes” to giving us a platform, it’d be difficult for us to do that.

Linda Folster and the YMCA Self-Employment Program: What a great bunch of business entrepreneurs! I did my first-ever talk on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and got to show the most amount of videos ever. It was a lot of fun. Thank you, Elina, for the introduction to Linda.

Spring: At Spring, one of our former clients and trusted social entrepreneur program partners, Cynnamon and I teamed up to talk to current students about how they can tackle Marketing and PR in their business journeys. Thank you, Chin Chang and Keith Ippel.

Beauty & Wellness TV: Though not a public talk, I am constantly amazed at the creative and innovative prowess of Founder Kathy Rabinovitch-Marliss, who allowed me the opportunity to do my first Facebook Live Seminar this month. As this is a new platform, I gained so many tips that will improve my own use of Facebook Live, and hopefully that of future speakers in the network.

Vancouver Business Network Meetup: This Meetup is tonight, and it marks a huge milestone in my career. This was one of the first Meetups I visited early in my career when Iman Biock Aghay first launched it, and where I got some of my first clients in 2009-2010. I’m honoured to be the last speaker of the year at this Meetup, and welcome you to join us for networking, refreshments, and to learn tips about media outreach in this noggin of mine. Thank you, Iman, for always being a cheerleader of my business, and Roger Killen, for your leadership, energy, guidance, and support.

I’m sure this won’t be the last time I speak, but given that a lot will be changing next year, I won’t be doing too many talks based on our online course. So you’ll just have to go and check it out for yourself if you’re interested in learning our media outreach process.

Who’s lifted you up this year who deserves your tribute?
