This is an archived blog from when I ran Conscious Public Relations Inc. from 2008-2018. Excuse the potential outdated-ness!
This isn’t a new tip, but I just discovered a trick today so thought I’d share a bit about the new – and rather annoying – way that Facebook has determined us to use the network as our biz page.
1. Reacting as your company vs yourself
You’ll notice that when you’re on other business pages, you’ll have the option to react and comment as yourself, or as your business page if you click on the little icon in the bottom-right corner of the post.
Easy enough, right? This function I actually rather like.
2. Liking another business page as your company
There’s a few steps to this one. You’ll have to hop on your own page on the left hand sidebar where it shows your # of likes. Click on “See Pages Feed.” Facebook must not like B2B interaction that much since it’s not making this option super visible. We can’t even get a bold up in here?!?
Now you’re on your company’s feed. On the left you’ll see a smidgeon of the pages you’ve liked as your business.
3. Unliking another business page as your company
Now, I recently had to do this because another page’s repetitive content was driving me nuts on our feed. So I had to figure out how to unlike. For this, you have to hop onto their page and then click on the 3-button icon right beside their “Share” button. Tricky tricksters!
After you click, select “Remove from My Page’s Favorites.” Done!
If you have a business page, have Facebook’s changes deterred you from being more active on other people’s business pages?
