This is an archived blog from when I ran Conscious Public Relations Inc. from 2008-2018. Excuse the potential outdated-ness!

Companies and news outlets that offer up useful and valuable information

Everyone loves a good free sample. I’m not one to hide from the freebies at consumer trade shows, or trying out a new food product at the grocery store. Especially when it comes to something you haven’t tried before, the sample is a good way to discover whether you really like the product before you buy more of it.

Do you know that you can find free information and advice that could help you in business (or your personal life) EVERYWHERE? Now, just because it’s free doesn’t mean it’s good, but when I find good advice and information, I like to share it just as I share all of the info I know about PR in our e-book and online videos.

Here is a great page on pitching to media that’s in this month’s BC Business Magazine:

…Yes, I am glad to hear that some media still appreciate phone calls!

Sites that I also appreciate for their good advice on public relations include PRNewser, PR Daily, Shift Communications’ The SHIFT blog, and Arment Dietrich’s Spin Sucks blog (yes, I highly suggest you learn from your competitors and each other!).

What valuable media or business resources would you give tribute to if you had the chance?
