Facing my fear of uncertainty

She’s back again and she’s pissed.

She, being that little voice inside my head who whines because life isn’t that great. Don’t get me wrong, I have an incredibly abundant life compared to many. But the little girl in me just isn’t happy with how personal finances are going right now, and even though this isn’t the first time I’ve stood at this crossroad, thinking about continuing the business or getting a real job like everyone else, the girl inside me just doesn’t want to make a decision. She whines about the indecision.

For the first time in my life, I Googled “How to know when to quit your business” and came up with a great post on Entrepreneur.com. I actually enjoyed reading it and felt happy for the writer and could see myself in his shoes. Nice, higher heeled shoes! You see, why I’m often stubborn and won’t just give up the business is because I’m uncomfortable with the uncertainty of which road will make the more impact on people. My business can absolutely bring a life of my wildest dreams, but only if it’s successful. And I can have that life – and also that impact – working a job too. For almost 4 years I haven’t wanted to even accept that as an option.

Two things: Have gratitude for everything, even the pain of the moment. And then explore the options. It doesn’t mean you have to do them.

If I end up choosing door #2, y’all will be the first to know.
