To brand and graphic designers everywhere
Yesterday my graphic designer Loren Aytona presented the second round of logo mockups for my new company, Rescued Clothing Co. It made me grateful for her talent, and I thought about how people probably take designers for granted, maybe even confuse designers with brand specialists. It isn’t the same thing – branding is how you develop a company’s essence, while designers are the people who execute the look.
I’m sure many design companies believe that good design could change the world, and I agree. Good design can result in understanding a company’s product, service, and goals better, and can lead to more sales and more trust, and a better economy.
I saw a Facebook ad by Cucumber Marketing not long ago that asked whether you’ve rejuvenated your website every few years. I think this is a good thing – I’ve certainly experienced changes recently with my site that better reflect the services my company offers. We should always be striving to communicate ourselves better to ideal clients and customers.
Do you swear by your designer, or do you need references to good ones?
