On brand voices

If it weren’t enough trouble to get my own inner voice under control, I now have a few others to manage.

I’m not complaining. For the first time in my company history, we will be representing one of the clients we have previously worked with, Cherlyn Skincare, on social media. We will be her voice, say what she would say, and do as she would do. I aspire to be what the Cherlyn brand represents, so I feel very honoured about this role.

It is not easy being multiple characters throughout the day. I sat in on a strategy meeting yesterday and although the discussion of messaging was left for the end, I feel it is such a core part of public relations that you cannot work backwards starting with promotions or sales tactics, and work on the messaging after. It is the voice and the message that come first. It is how people ‘get’ what you do.

I don’t really have a point to this, but am just observing the various voices that I have within myself and now, for others.

Some of my favourite brands online that actually SPEAK to what they show and represent:

G Day for Girls (have to give props to our stellar digital team)
Cucumber Marketing
Cartems Donuterie
Briteweb
Raw Beauty Talks
