This is an archived blog from when I ran Conscious Public Relations Inc. from 2008-2018. Excuse the potential outdated-ness!

Today I want to start by giving tribute to the people who were part of the conception of Conscious PR.

Liza Lee, Digital Marketer & Artist Extraordinaire, introduced me to a couple of her colleagues she thought would be in need of PR at the end of 2010.

One of those artists was Baljit Rayat of Lotus Destiny, who was putting on her first healing event in February 2011 called “Awakening to the Universe Within.” Held at the HR MacMillan Space Centre, Baljit projected her Star Activations while healing over 100 attendees. She was the first intuitive coach I had met, and it was amazing to see her at work when she invited me to one of her private healing circles. She knew things she could not have possibly known without meeting someone in my family. This was the first of other healings I did with her, which always help me dig deeper to expose my own limiting beliefs.

Baljit introduced me to a new networking group called The Serendipity Tea Party which is facilitated by April Bellia. I not only found a networking group I felt I belonged to, but its members opened my eyes even more to the fact that conscious living and business was not uncommon. Here, I met Kate Muker, CEO of the Conscious Divas, which is one of the most influential heart-centred companies I have had the pleasure of knowing. At the first CD event I attended (their first anniversary party) I was almost in tears just in conversation with another member because of what we were touching on. I knew this was a sign that this was a very different sort of crowd from what I was used to.

In the fall of 2011 I downloaded the name “Conscious PR” which answered the internal questions I had since 2009 about how to transition into a PR company that is committed to telling good stories ethically. I wasn’t ready to do this in ’09, and had seen other companies doing the same. Seeing speakers like Gabrielle Bernstein preach about conscious living and people responding to her message so positively was inspiring. On November 3rd, 2011, I thought of the idea of launching it as a brand first, and proceeded to buy the domains that night. No one on the Internet was using it as a company name, so it was almost a sign of things to come.

I launched Conscious PR in mid 2012 and the Conscious Divas was my first client under the new brand. I can still remember that feeling of sitting at their first Living Extraordinary Live event and feeling that I was invincible, that I could run this company and be successful and not fail. It is hard to stay in this energy (and not fail as well!), but it was a big sign. I give so much tribute to the Conscious Divas for being such a strong foundation of the new company brand I’ve built.

I changed my company name officially in 2013 and have been running under the brand ever since. It now feels like the company I was meant to run, even though it took me years of self-exploration to figure out my values and try things out. I’m thankful that the universe has brought all of these light workers into my life and given me the signs to lead the way.
