Do you walk around with stress, worry or anxiety sometimes?

Welcome to the club!

One of the most amazing (and annoying, admittedly) things I have been learning this past year is about how my fears have been controlling my thoughts and emotions. You might not see the anxiety in my body or face, but it is definitely being carried around inside. It usually resides in the chest area, which is probably why I have been having digestive problems the last few years (in addition to taking other things).

My fear of public speaking has been around for a long time, and as I have shared before, I was able to tackle that (not completely rid of it) when I appeared on live TV last November.

I just had a great coaching call in which we tackled my anxious feelings that arise when I receive a bulk of unread client e-mails – namely, 5-6, which is beyond the manageable <4. With her help I came to the conclusion that I already felt like I had failed my clients, even before opening the e-mails to see what they were about.

This is an amazing discovery! And, I have just opened my inbox to 17 new e-mails, 8 of which are from clients or client-related, and I feel completely fine. This is what is possible when you have a great coach behind you to work these feelings out.

Now, onto tackling the next fear!
